These interesting animals make great pets. They are tolerant of handling, and are fed a number of easily obtained food items. Blue Tongued Skinks are live bearing reptiles rather than egg laying. There are a number of locales available, with taxonomic labels debated as to which locales belong to which sub species. If you want to be different, consider a Blue Tongue. This is a project my 10 year old son has taken on, and it has really boosted his responsibility. He has done some great reports for school, and manages their care almost independently.
