Uros are booming in popularity because of their curious active lifestyle and vegetarian diet. No more crickets or other feeder bugs. Uros may or may not tolerate handling based on the individual, but if captive born, seem to be much more tolerant than wild caught uros. I have several groups of 4 year old malis who are ready to produce this year. Uros are tricky to breed, but are hardy captives if you provide a balanced diet and a basking temp (not air temp) of 135-140f. A temp gun is highly recommended. We will be bringing in several varieties of uros, but their care is basically the same from one to the other. |
